IT ALL STARTED IN A GARAGE…

OUR STORY

We started Mural City Cellars in our beloved home city of Philadelphia, making our first vintage in Francesca’s mom’s garage. We wanted to contribute to the growing movement of east coast winemaking, driven by our passion for making and drinking uncomplicated, un-stuffy, unmanipulated wine. We love all of Philly’s neighborhood breweries, and we now bring wine to the community with a similar vibe: in a casual, fun environment where guests can taste an array of local wines and bring their favorite bottles home.

Opened in March of 2024, our new space in Fishtown features a winery, wine bar and bottle shop in a converted auto-body garage on Frankford Avenue.

Our 300 Mile Promise

MCC makes a few varietals each year with crops from local growers who live within a 300-mile radius of Philadelphia. We harvest the grapes by hand alongside the farmers, do manual punchdowns, gently press the grapes for optimal flavor and work with local artists for the labels.

At the winery, we offer meats, cheeses and other menu items from local purveyors within that radius as well.

our Winemaking Process

We focus on making wines for everyday consumption - easy drinking and unmanipulated - using only grapes from small growers within 300 miles of the city.

Our wines are hand-harvested, gently pressed and minimally filtered creating fruit-forward, high acid wines with integrity and respect for the fruit and farmers who grow them.
